About Fry’s Karate
Fry’s Karate is a traditional martial arts school in New Windsor, New York, offering instruction in Soo Bahk Do Moo Duk Kwan for children, teens, and adults.
Our mission is to cultivate a training environment where health, wellness, and disciplined martial arts practice support both individual growth and a strong, respectful community. Students are encouraged to develop responsibility, consistency, and a lasting relationship with practice.
Located in Windsor Commons near Route 32 and Union Avenue, the school has served New Windsor, Newburgh, Cornwall, and surrounding areas since the mid-1990s, when it was known as Frampton’s Karate.
Our Art: Soo Bahk Do
Soo Bahk Do is a traditional Korean martial art characterized by a balance of soft and hard movement. Training includes sharp, decisive techniques alongside longer, fluid motion, reflecting influences from Chinese and Okinawan martial traditions.
At its core is Moo Do — the Martial Way. Moo Do emphasizes discipline, humility, respect, and responsibility, extending beyond physical technique into daily life. Practice is understood as both physical and internal cultivation, supporting strong bodies, clear minds, and grounded character.
Our Approach to Training
Our goal is to cultivate an environment that allows room for independent growth while maintaining shared standards and mutual respect.
Instruction is intentional and personal, never treated as childcare or crowd management. Classes are structured, physically demanding, and guided with care. Discipline is built through clarity, consistency, and kindness, encouraging self-discipline.
Community & Practice
By emphasizing personal development over quick milestones, students build a healthy relationship with training—one that supports resilience, confidence, and lifelong movement.
While progress is individual, training is shared. Students are part of a community that values effort, responsibility, and respect for the art.
